Physical Development, Birth to 12 Months

Infobase, (film distributor.). Siren Films (Firm) (Added Author).

Summary: This program is a guide to physical development through the first year of life, presenting myriad absorbing sequences that bring many of the characters to life. Children everywhere seem to pass through the same sequences of development and although all children are unique, a sound understanding of typical patterns and time scales will give you an understanding of how best to promote individual children’s future holistic development. The selection of sequences in this program filmed during this rapid period of development starts with the newborn and gives examples for every three month stage until the children reach twelve months. Information about each stage is shown on the screen before each of the 46 examples, assisting viewers to observe, in detail, primitive reflexes, ross motor skills, fine motor skills, and vision.
